Live at The Cooler is a precursor to Songsmiths. The two projects are similar because L@TC was also a mutually-beneficial way to open up my studio to local talent. They are different because I was after a live, underground-music-scene kind of vibe with L@TC. I never produced any of the artists that came though. Maybe I’ll try the concept again since now I could actually stream the performances live! The sound wouldn’t be as good though.
It’s interesting to note that the Songsmiths artists I’ve been working with recently seem to intuitively understand how the online, mutual-promotion model is meant to work and are using it to it’s fullest. We’re all a lot more savvy online than we were in 2011. And don’t get me started on how much the music industry has changed since then. It’s a great time to be an independent artist!
Enjoy 1947 playing their song “Walkure” live at The Cooler back in 2011. It’s one of my favorite L@TC tracks. I think Neil is a really talented dude and he put together a great band.
